Western Washington Center for the Arts is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to promoting the arts in Kitsap County, and particularly in Port Orchard and the surrounding communities. We are celebrating our 10th season in the "Little Playhouse on the Waterfront."

History

In February 2002, Western Washington Center for the Arts, formerly First Onstage Productions, began renovation of our current home, a 1918-historic building on the Port Orchard waterfront, creating a 79-seat venue for live theater. Our mission is to present, preserve and promote the arts, especially the theater arts. One element of our vision is to help make Port Orchard and the Kitsap Peninsula a destination for tourism.

WWCA is governed by a volunteer board of directors, elected from the community by members of WWCA. Membership in WWCA is gained by purchase of a season subscription or dedicating a minimum of 200 volunteer hours at the theater in a single year. Ask us about becoming a member of WWCA or about becoming a member of the board of directors. WWCA is totally dependent on volunteers and always interested in "spreading the wealth" achieved through volunteering your time and your talents.

Artistic Director:  Jan Peterson Ewen

Current Board of Directors: Bruce Ewen, Soozie Hummel, Cindy Mitchell, Denise Whitaker-Packer; Trina Routh, Liam Sanchez, Christine Usher, Karen Schneider, Carol Fogel, Jackie Furuheim, Suzie Pride Chris Garland.

We were happy to have WWCA featured recently on a segment for Bremerton Kitsap Access TV's "Cruisin' Kitsap" program.  Take a couple of minutes to hear from our Artistic Director Jan Ewen as she shares about the history of our theater and the many opportunities for you to be a part of what we do!

WWCA is located at 521 Bay Street, Port Orchard, WA 98366, directly on the waterfront.  Our building is adjacent to the marina, across the street from Dick Vlist Motors.

IMPORTANT PARKING NOTE: The theatre building has only 6 - 7 spaces in the front; please use other parking if you are physically able. There is plenty of parking available near the theater on the street and in the marina parking lot (please use the perimeter parking spaces NOT the pull through spaces).
